Pattie Wells is a writer, poet, blogger, dance educator and business entrepreneur. She grew up in several places in the U.S. including El Paso, Texas, as well as Trieste, Italy and Baumholder, Germany and has traveled across Europe, Hawaii and to Jamaica. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing  from San Diego State University. Pattie has served as adjunct faculty in the Music and Dance Departments of San Diego State University, Grossmont and Southwestern colleges.

Pattie managed the Sunshine Ballroom Dance Studio in the late 1970’s then branched out and to own and operate her own company, Dance Instruction by Pattie Wells for 16 years. Eventually, she opened the premier San Diego dance studio, the Pattie Wells’ Dancetime Center in 1998 and continued as owner/operator until 2013.

Pattie’s lifelong talent and passion has been for writing. Early in life she wrote dream journals and essays then in 1996 started writing poetry and journalistic articles, finally branching out to short stories, poetry translations and chapters for her novel in recent years. In 2011, she began working on web content for her world dance website and continues to write content, blog articles and social media posts online for www.dancetime.com and her content writing customers.

Pattie’s poetry and short stories have appeared in numerous literary magazines including City Works, Meridian Anthology of Contemporary Poetry, Green Hills Literary Lantern, Wisconsin Review, River Oak Review, Sow’s Ear Poetry Review, Poetry International and ZYZZYVA.

Currently, Pattie produces article and video blogs world dance website and blogs for her new writing resource website at PattieWells.com. She is also working on completing a linked stories novel and translating a  book of Italian poetry by Eugenio Montale. Pattie writes web content for a limited number of clients and still teaches a few private dance lessons by appointment only. Pattie is looking for a publisher for her book of poems titled Fire In Rain.
